This is pure Cabernet planted in 1972. There is very little Cab in the country that old, and it's a thrill to taste it. The scents show almost-indefinable old vine character—a kind of brambly, delicate, nuanced mix of herb and fruit that turns up in old vine Zins, but here without the excess alcohol. Beautifully ripe and detailed.
