Grape jelly, pipe smoke, lilac cologne, woody incense and a bit of tar show in the nose of this wine by Benjamin Silver, who's made wine for many years in a small warehouse on Santa Barbara's Eastside. Flavors of blackberry, wet tobacco, gamy meats and beef jerky are pleasantly rustic.
